Un orizzonte fatto di miraggi costruito intorno a corpi ora morbidi ora asciutti, forme plastiche e onde anomale. Corpi. Che paiono librarsi nello spazio e poi dissolversi. Materia fisica dai contorni appena tratteggiati che sfuma fino a diventare impercettibile allo sguardo, impalpabile al tatto. Dietro l’obbiettivo della macchina fotografica un desiderio di carne inappagato che non vuole prendere forma e trova consolazione dentro sogni irrealizzabili e speranze vane. Sono i moti dell’anima quelli di Carlo Branz. Sussulti del cuore narrati da una mano sapiente che mette l’immagine al servizio dell’arte e quasi la trasfigura per farne pittura. La ricerca dell’essenziale si nutre del corpo per raccontare le emozioni. E con passione lo divora. E con pudore ne lascia intravedere solo il perimetro. Sono essenziali movimenti d’amore i suoi. Indefiniti. Come un miraggio.
Carlo Branz, in arte Branzino, origini pugliesi, vive e lavora a Milano. Per vent’anni fotografo di moda e still life, debutta con questa serie di opere intitolate “Miraggi” nella fotografia artistica. Realizza fotografie a serie unica di grande formato (100cm x 150cm) stampate su carta cotone opaca Hahnemuhle, montate su alluminio.

CARLO BRANZ’S MIRAGES
A horizon made up of mirages which are built around rotund, willowy and lean bodies, plastic shapes and anomalous waves. Bodies which seem to be released and freed in space and eventually dissolve. Physical matter and its slightly dotted contours which fade away and therefore become indiscernible and impalpable. Behind the camera lens, there is an unsatisfied carnal desire that does not want to take shape and finds consolation behind unrealizable dreams and vain hopes. This is Carlo Branz’s soul inner turmoil. The heart that gives starts which are narrated through a skilful hand that puts images at the service of art in such a way that transfigures art itself to make paintings. The search for the essential feeds on the body to tell feelings and emotions. The search devours the body with passion and with modesty let barely make out the outline. His movements are undefined like a mirage, I am talking about love movements.
Carlo Branz’s whose stage name is Branzino, is of South Italian origin and dwells and works in Milan. For twenty years he has been a fashion and still life photographer. He makes his debut in the artistic photography with this work named “Mirages”. He takes and creates pictures (size 100cm x 150cm) of which there are just originals available since he does not make any reproductions. He prints them on matt cotton paper Hahnemuhle and mounts them on aluminium.
